Do you have errors on your credit report? We Can Help!
Having accurate information on your credit report is essential. Your credit report is used for a variety of different reasons – a mortgage, a car loan, a job – and so it is important to make sure that the information reflected in your credit report is correct and accurate.
The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) is a federal law that regulates credit reporting agencies to promote the accuracy, fairness and privacy of consumer information in credit reports.
Some common violations include:
Failing to report a debt(s) discharged in bankruptcy
Reporting someone else’s information on your credit report (mixing credit information)
Reporting you as a debtor on an account that you were only an authorized user on
Misstating the amount due on a debt
Misstating that payments were late when they were not
Reporting a debt as charged off when you actually paid in full or settled
Failing to conduct a reasonable investigation after you dispute accuracy of items on your credit report
Not correcting or deleting the inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information within 30 days of receiving your written dispute
The law provides that the prevailing party is awarded attorneys’ fees and costs. That means when we are successful on your case, the OTHER SIDE will have to pay for YOUR attorneys’ fees and costs.
